Vitamin D + bonus footage

"Vitamin D is a steroid vitamin, a group of fat-soluble prohormones, which encourages the absorption and metabolism of calcium and phosphorous. People who are exposed to normal quantities of sunlight do not need vitamin D supplements because sunlight promotes sufficient vitamin D synthesis in the skin. "

I supplement with Vitamin D, when the weather demands it (ie no sunshine). Its a tiny small tablet and, although I can't measure its success, I do think its key to recovery. Of course, the alternative is to sit in the sun for 20 minutes which can be most pleasurable. Especially with a beverage and maybe the sports pages. It's always good to get away from the TV/computer/radio/Iphone/laptop/Playstation/tablet sometimes anyway.

Here's a nice article on vitamin D and its benefits.

"Scientists have known for years that Vitamin D is essential for muscle strength."

Anyway, on to today's bonus footage: One arm Snatcheroo.

I am sure you'll agree that I am neither athletic, photogenic nor poetic.

I enjoyed the one arm snatch, it was genuinely good fun to have a go at. It felt very explosive and because it's not a complex lift, it wasn't as frustrating as a full snatch. If it went up, it went up. 50kg was quite a close fail - something to work towards next time.

Train Smart, Charlie.
